A commission with Janina Vakhovich is an original painted for you — in her own language of colour, symbol and emotion. Not a reproduction and not a catalogue copy: a new story that begins in conversation with you.
How it works
- You send a short brief: mood, format, colours, and whether any of my works resonate — you can attach photos.
- We agree the climate and scope — canvas size, palette, symbols that should speak.
- I prepare a sketch or moodboard for approval before paint hits the canvas.
- I paint an acrylic original on canvas in my Warsaw atelier — layer by layer.
- Varnish, signature, documentation — the work is ready to live with you.
- Secure shipping or personal pickup by arrangement.
What you receive
One original acrylic painting on canvas — not a 1:1 copy of an existing work. We agree format and mood; every piece is signed and carries its own story. You buy the presence of a living artist, not a marketplace print.
Price and timeline
Commissions generally start in a similar range to ready originals in the shop and grow with format and complexity. Typical turnaround is several to a dozen weeks after sketch approval — depending on queue and scale. I give a concrete quote and date after the brief, without fake overnight promises.
Common questions
- Can you copy a photo or another painting exactly?
- I do not paint 1:1 copies of other people’s work or photographs. I can create a related original in a similar mood — in my own language of colour and symbol.
- How does the deposit work?
- After sketch approval we agree a deposit (usually part of the price), with the balance before shipping or pickup. Details are confirmed by email.
- How many revisions are included?
- At the sketch stage we align direction and agreed changes. Once painting starts, changes are limited — a painting is a living process, not an editor.
- How does shipping work?
- I pack securely and ship to the agreed country (rates follow current shipping methods). Pickup in Warsaw is also possible by arrangement.
- How long until the painting is ready?
- Usually from a few to around a dozen weeks after concept approval — depending on format and queue. I give a realistic date with the quote.
